First of all- THANKS TO All OF YOU who are wearing your Allie Strong hats on your outdoor adventures, it feels like you are taking her with you…. It fills my heart.  She misses all those things so very much.

Exciting news!  Thanks to a loud voice, strong advocate- Allies Craig evaluation has been moved up to the week of April 16th!  She is very excited and feeling a little recharged to get stronger so she can eventually get all she can out of this opportunity.  She is meeting tomorrow with an athletic trainer in White River to see if he can help her in some way regain more strength and endurance.  As she reminded me yesterday- her biceps do all her work!  We will be in Colorado for 1 week for an evaluation and then come back to VT and wait to see their recommendations.

Tuesday we are traveling to Boston to see a Neuro surgeon re hand function.  Knowledge is power so even if there isn’t something surgically that can be done we hope to gain more knowledge about spinal cord injuries.  We are also looking forward to her bladder scan in February, it can give us a better idea of how much it does function/hold etc. .

Meanwhile, Allie continues with Pt and Ot.  Our next goal is more manual chair time!  It’s so hard with all that is going on and I admit I am not good at positioning her in this chair.  I have conquered the others for the most part so this will come in time.  Thankful that Dana works from home some days to lend a hand and fill in where needed.  She also is trying to spend more time in the schools.  Her goal is one day a week for a few hours and there are several schools she is able to visit and help in the classroom.  So we will see how it goes with the trainer and Neuro surgeon and keep you updated.

Vierra loves riding with TT (her name for Allie) in her chair and puts her hands in her lap so she can go around the house with her.  It’s so fun to see her comfort grow around Allie.  The interactions are priceless.  I will be leaving her in charge before you know it lol.

Thanks as always for your love and support.  Praying for good things to come…..Lisa
